Description

This large bobble-head toy cow is an example of an akabeko toy. It has a typical red body and features black, gold, and white highlights. The head is attached to the body with string. The cow carries a bunch of sisal (to represent rice) with a bell at the center as well as two wooden offering boxes that are painted black with gold writing. These are all tied on with string and laid on top of a pink and gold flowered fabric blanket with a green cord trim. There are red, green, purple, pink, and yellow ribbons hanging down on both sides. A black tail is painted on the back.
